Michel Camilo is a Grammy- and Emmy-winning artist who has enjoyed a three-decade career of touring and recording with trios, big bands and symphonic orchestras in the styles of jazz, Latin jazz, popular and world music. He has emerged as one of the most innovative and exciting musicians of his generation for his brilliantly crafted and critically acclaimed recordings, the latest titled What’s Up? Camilo is known for his appearances in the films Calle 54 and Two Much. The offspring of a musical family in the Dominican Republic, he has composed works that have been recorded or performed by Paquito D’Rivera, The Manhattan Transfer and Dizzy Gillespie, among many others.
