Conference on Dominican Affairs a Success, Despite Snow Storm

Newark, NJ.– Despite the snow storm yesterday, Sunday, February 22, 2015, the 15th Annual Conference on Dominican Affairs was a success.

Approximately 250 attendees convened under the roof of Rutgers School of Law and joined Dr. Maria Teresa Montilla and her team of volunteers, to discuss the Conference theme: On the Road to Power Via Coalition Building.

The list of speakers and attendees included NYC Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, NJ State Senator and Mayor of Union City Brian Stack, NYS Assemblyman Keith Wright, LLANJ President Martin Perez, Candidate for Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader, Lynda Gallashaw, Passaic County Civic League, Activist Al Moody, WNY Commissioner Fiord’Aliza Frias, Rabbi Melsen Herson, Rabbinical College of America, Dr. Jo Renee Fine, AJC, a delegation of students from Paterson John F. Kennedy HS accompanied by Teachers Edwin Hernandez and Anny Vargas, Dr. Carlos Fernandez, Rutgers Center for Latino Arts & Culture, Fred Price, Medgar Evers College, Radio Personality & Activist Felipe Luciano, NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Freeholder Tilo Rivas, and among others, Paterson Councilman Alex Mendez.
