Rabbi Herson to Speak at NJ Conference on Dominican Affairs

Paterson, NJ.– Rabbi Mendel Herson, Assistant to the Dean of the Rabbinical College of America, will attend the 15th Annual NJ Conference on Dominican Affairs slated to take place on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Rutgers School of Law- Center for Law & Justice, located at 123 Washington Street Newark, NJ.

The theme of the conference is On the Road to Power Via Coalition Building.

Rabbi Herson will be a panelist of the workshop entitled Jewish and Latino Relations. The forum, to be moderated by Nestor Montilla, Sr., is scheduled to begin promptly at 10am. Highlights of the forum includes a brief special presentation of documentary Jewish Refugees in Sosua depicting the story of  the first persecuted Jews who were welcome, protected and embraced in the Dominican Republic in the late 1930s.

Rabbi Herson will say the blessing at the Conference plenary luncheon slated to take place at Rutgers School of Law’s historic Atrium.
